Another oil-covered goose sent to Indian Trail group
An Indian Trail animal rescue group has received another oil-covered goose this week.
Carolina Waterfowl Rescue has received 13 geese since mid-April from Greensboro, where they were covered in oil in a retaining pond at a shopping center.
At least one of the geese has died. Carolina Waterfowl received the latest goose Thursday.
The group is asking for donations or for people to drop off bath towels and laundry detergent at the rescue, 5403 Poplin Road, Indian Trail. Donations can be made online at www.cwrescue.org.
Carolina Waterfowl is using a bird-safe solvent that costs $400 a bottle to wash the geese.
