S.C. man charged with sex-trafficking a minor in Mecklenburg County
An S.C. man charged with sex trafficking of a minor in Mecklenburg County was arrested Thursday in Columbia, S.C., Acting U.S. Attorney Jill Westmoreland Rose announced Friday.
On April 22, a federal grand jury returned a two-count indictment against Martin Allen Meggett, 27, of West Columbia.
According to the indictment, Meggett twice drove the minor to Mecklenburg County in September 2014 for purposes of prostitution.
Meggett had his initial appearance in federal court in Columbia, where he remains in federal custody until he’s transferred to North Carolina to appear before a U.S. magistrate judge.
