Firefighters rescue 25-plus cats and kittens from Charlotte apartment fire

Charlotte firefighters said they rescued at least 25 cats and kittens from an apartment fire on East 7th Street on Friday. No one was injured in the fire, the Charlotte Fire Department said on its Twitter account Friday night. The fire department “is here for all Charlotte’s residents -- including the four-legged ones. Even tough firefighters like kittens,” the department said on Twitter. Joe Marusak
