Red-shouldered hawk released in Matthews

A red-shouldered hawk that Matthews police found injured on Interstate 485 in late March was rehabilitated and on Thursday morning released by police and Carolina Raptor Center staff.

The hawk was released in the parking lot of Matthews Community Center, 100 McDowell St.
