CMPD to honor officers killed in the line of duty
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and other law enforcement officers on Friday morning will honor officers killed in the line of duty.
A procession will begin at CMPD headquarters at 9:45 a.m. and head to First Baptist Church on S. Davidson Street. A memorial service will be held in the church.
Law enforcement agencies around the region are among those marking National Police Week, which officially starts Sunday and serves as a remembrance for the officers who lost their lives while on duty.
