Officers ride bikes to D.C. to honor fallen comrades

Hundreds of law enforcement officers from Mecklenburg County and beyond are riding bicycles 500 miles over four days from Charlotte to Washington, D.C., in memory of those who died in the line of duty.

The Bike to DC started in 2007 after Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Officers Jeff Shelton and Sean Clark lost their lives in the line of duty. At the end of the ride, officers attend a candlelight vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. WBTV
