Selfie sticks banned at Wells Fargo Championship
If you want a nice shot of yourself on the 18th green this week, you’ll have to ask somebody else to take it for you.
Selfie sticks are banned at the Wells Fargo Championship, the PGA golf tournament at Quail Hollow Club in south Charlotte that kicks off Monday. It’s spelled out on the tournament’s policies page.
These are the contraptions that extend the reach of your arm so you can take better photos of yourself and your surroundings. They were also banned this year at the Kentucky Derby and at Wimbledon.
Tournament week begins Monday with a pro-am event. You won’t be able to take any photos at all starting Thursday, when the competitive rounds begin.
