Funeral scheduled for UNC Charlotte student killed in party bus fall

A funeral for Polly Rogers, who died after falling from a party bus on her way from UNC Charlotte's campus to uptown, will be held May 7 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Charlotte, according to her obituary.

Rogers, 20, was hit by multiple vehicles after falling from the bus on North Tryon Street Tuesday night, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

She had two brothers, including a twin, according to her obituary.

She grew up in Charlotte and attended Sharon Elementary, Carmel Middle and Myers Park High schools, her obituary states. She was a cheerleader in middle and high school and was active in the youth group and handbell choir at St. John's, according to the obituary.
