Charlotte Area Transit System will temporarily interrupt service Sunday because of construction work on the Lynx Blue Line Extension.

Train service will operate as scheduled between the I-485 station and Carson station.

Service to stations beyond Carson will be accessible via CATS bus service, CATS announced Friday.

Each affected station will have signage directing riders to the nearest bus stop. Riders should look for the bus stop that says “LYNX Connector.”

When the bus approaches, the headway sign also will say LYNX Connector.

Riders in uptown can access the Lynx Connector at Bay V on the Brevard Street side of the Charlotte Transportation Center.

Other stations in uptown, including 7th Street Station, will not be served by the Lynx connector.

Regular local fare will be required and serves as a transfer. Tickets can be purchased at the open Lynx stations from the ticket vending machines.

Customers paying for their ride on the bus will need cash and exact change. The bus driver cannot make change, and the fare boxes do not accept credit cards.

The Lynx Blue Line is expected to return to its regular schedule Monday morning.
