Mom, three children injured when vehicle flips on I-85

A mother and three children were taken to area hospitals after a rollover vehicle accident on I-85 in Mecklenburg County Monday.

The wreck happened around 4:30 p.m. on I-85 southbound near Sam Wilson Road. Troopers at the scene told WBTV that a woman swerved when she was cut off, then over-corrected, causing the vehicle to flip.

WBTV's Sky 3 was over the scene where Medic crews loaded one person on a stretcher into an ambulance. They appeared to be assisting several other people near the wreck.

Officials later confirmed that four people - a mother and three children - were taken to area hospitals. No names have been released, but all are expected to be okay.
