Here’s why kittens are turning up in Bojangles’ tailgate boxes
Bojangles’ helped the Charlotte-Mecklenburg animal shelter avert a mini-crisis this week.
So many people adopted kittens that the shelter ran out of cardboard carriers in which to take the pets home, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Animal Care and Control Division posted on Facebook.
The shelter called the fast-food chain that was founded in Charlotte, and workers delivered extra-large Bojangles’ tailgate boxes to fill the need. Fans of the NFL Carolina Panthers take the boxes packed with Bojangles’ food to tailgate parties outside Bank of America stadium.
Animal Care and Control said at least 130 kitties were adopted in a few days.
“SHOUT OUT to Bojangles’ for coming to the rescue,” Animal Care and Control posted on Facebook with a video of the delivery.. “Thank you for donating your boxes to the cause! Our adopted kitties are now going home in true Bo-style.”
