Pedestrian seriously injured after walking into east Charlotte street

A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured in east Charlotte late Monday night.

It happened around 10:28 p.m. in the 300 block of Eastway Drive.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say the man walked out into the street and was not in a crosswalk when he was hit. He went to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.

No further details were released.
