It’s down to CMPD and a Texas force in lip sync video battle. Here’s how to vote.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is one step away from winning a nationwide competition for best law enforcement lip sync video, and voting ends Wednesday.

CMPD employees traveled all around the county while lip syncing Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” as part of a viral video challenge this summer. The video had gotten 2.4 million views on Facebook as of Sunday.

In August, USA Today released a bracket to choose the country’s best video by popular vote. CMPD defeated departments from Hampton, Va., and Seattle on its way to the final round.

Now the department is up against Flower Mound, Tex., which is in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Officers there danced to Meghan Trainor’s song “Me Too.”

Charlotte is more than 10 times larger than Flower Mound by population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2017 estimate.

CMPD has campaigned for votes on its social media pages, and in an email Sunday afternoon, Lt. Brad Koch compared the competition to the Carolina Panthers’ game against the Dallas Cowboys.

“Please help your favorite local police department take down another Texas powerhouse on Wednesday!” Koch said.
