Thousands gather in uptown for annual Race for the Cure

Thousands of people lined the streets of uptown Charlotte Saturday morning for the 22nd annual Komen Charlotte Race for the Cure. It’s a morning intended to help honor, remember and celebrate breast cancer survivors.

It was the third location for the Race in uptown in three years. It’s also the first year to not have a timed competitive run – just one start time together at 7:40 a.m.
