Charlotte man believed to have dementia found in Cleveland County

An elderly man believed to be suffering from dementia, who hadn’t been seen since driving from his home on Foxcroft Road Wednesday morning, was found in Cleveland County and appears to be in good health, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Officer Keith Trietley said.

“His family has been notified and is in route to his location,” Trietley said in a news release at 8:45 a.m. Thursday.

Police began searching for James Parke Jr. after his son reported that his father drove from the home about 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued a statewide alert.
