Charlotte traffic: Wreck blocks I-485 lane

A wreck continues to block the left lane of Interstate 485 Outer Loop at mile marker 7 near Charlotte.

The wreck happened about 3:50 p.m., and the lane could be blocked for at least an hour and a half, state highway officials said.

Meanwhile, N.C. 49 northbound near Harrisburg will remain closed until 9 p.m. Friday after a water main break.

The break happened at 6 a.m. and caused severe buckling and cracking across the pavement near Pharr Mill Road, making N.C. 49 impassable.
