Two Union County meetings postponed because of death of commissioner’s wife

Two Union County meetings set for Monday – a budget meeting between Union County commissioners and the school board and a regular commissioners meeting – are being canceled because of the death of a commissioner's wife, county officials said Sunday.

Commissioner Frank Aikmus’ wife, Angie, died Saturday after battling cancer.

The school board sent a notice Sunday night that the joint meeting was canceled because of an expected lack of quorum. No new date has been set. ADAM BELL
