Charlotte traffic: Vehicle smashes into west Charlotte store
A vehicle smashed into the front of Little Rock Food Mart in the 2000 block of Little Rock Road in west Charlotte shortly before noon Tuesday.
A worker at the store said Medic took the driver of the vehicle to the hospital. No one in the store was injured, he said.
Earlier Tuesday, a multivehicle wreck jammed inbound Independence Boulevard in Charlotte.
The wreck followed several others across Charlotte in which injuries were reported.
A wreck blocked the center lane of Interstate 77 northbound near Alexanderana Road at about 8:30 a.m.
Meanwhile, at least one motorist was reported trapped in a vehicle wreck in the 3200 block of Shamrock Drive in Charlotte.
Also, a wreck at 8 a.m. blocked the left lane of I-85 southbound near City Boulevard, Exit 43.
Earlier, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to four wrecks with injuries.
The first wreck happened shortly before 6 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Wendover Road.
The next wreck was on westbound I-485 Inner Loop in south Charlotte at about 6:20 a.m. That wreck was cleared shortly after 7 a.m.
The third wreck happened about 6:30 a.m. at I-77 northbound and Brookshire Freeway. Police said the exit ramp is closed.
At 7 a.m., police responded to a wreck on southbound I-77 between Sam Furr Road, Exit 25, and Gilead Road, Exit 23. That wreck has been cleared, police reported.
