3 injured when car smashes into primary care practice on Albemarle Road
Three people were injured, including one with life-threatening injuries, when a car smashed about 20 feet into a primary care practice on Albemarle Road in east Charlotte Wednesday morning.
The car went through the front glass of Central Carolina Medical Clinic, in the Farm Pond Shops retail center near Farm Pond Road. The wreck happened shortly before 10 a.m.
Medic reported taking the patient with life-threatening injuries to Carolinas Medical Center. The person was pinned beneath the car, police told WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.
The two other patients had minor injuries, according to Medic. One was taken to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center and the other to Carolinas HealthCare System University.
Police at the scene told WBTV that the car entered in reverse. It is not clear what led up to the wreck. The driver was not seriously injured, police said.
