Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and the N.C. Barbers Association are hosting the fifth “Cops and Barbers” town hall event Sunday.
The meetings are designed to be an opportunity for the African-American community to learn what their rights are and the appropriate manner in which to conduct themselves when coming in contact with police, CMPD said.
And the community is informed about the appropriate manner that officers must conduct themselves when engaging with the public.
CMPD called the topics timely and important in light of several recent police incidents nationwide involving African-American community.
The meeting is set for 3 p.m. in the Methodist Park Recreation Center, 3200 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte.
