1 taken to hospital after nearly drowning

One person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after nearly drowning in east Charlotte on Sunday, authorities said.

The incident happened in the 6100 block of Montego Drive, near the intersection of The Plaza and Milton Road.

Police had not released details about the incident or identified the victim late Sunday. Cleve R. Wootson Jr.
