Emergency crews are at a wreck with injuries in which at least one person is trapped Tuesday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the wreck happened about 8:45 a.m. at Bellhaven Boulevard and Valleydale Road, off Brookshire Boulevard in northwest Charlotte.

Overnight, police and firefighters rescued a family, including a baby, from their east Charlotte apartment after a car crashed into a vacant laundromat space below.

The family was uninjured, while the car’s driver was hospitalized with minor injuries, emergency crews told Observer news partner WBTV. Police were trying to determine what caused the car to crash into the building.

The wreck happened in the 5000 block of Farm Pond Lane, off Albemarle Road.
