Police investigating train fatality in southeast Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a pedestrian fatality involving a train Sunday afternoon.

The incident took place at Monroe Road and Dunn Avenue near Briar Creek. A train carrying intermodal containers is stopped at the scene.

Police could be seen coming out from the wooded area near the tracks.
