Charlotte temperatures in the 90s expected into next week

Summer begins June 21, but it sure will feel like we’re already in it over the next week in the Charlotte area.

Humidity stood at 93 percent at 5 a.m. Thursday, and the forecast high for the day is 89, according to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C.

Then, it only gets hotter, with highs expected to creep up to 90 Friday, 92 Saturday and 94 Sunday.

Next week is forecast to be even hotter. While Monday’s high could dip down a degree to 93, Tuesday could hit 94 and Wednesday 95, according to the National Weather Service.

A slight chance of thunderstorms will accompany the hotter temperatures each day at least through Friday. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies the rest of the work week.
