Teen turns 7-Eleven into drive-thru by driving through front door, Charlotte cops say
Two teens are being sought by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police after the pair literally turned a 7-Eleven store into a drive-thru with their vehicle, according to a CMPD release.
The incident is being described as a “hit and run,” and investigators have not said if the driver went through the front door on purpose or it was a case of bad teen driving.
It happened about 10 p.m. Sunday at the convenience store at 8325 Old Statesville Road, just north of West W.T. Harris Boulevard in north Charlotte, police said in the release.
“A vehicle described as a burgundy or purple sedan occupied by two teen-aged ... suspects struck the 7-Eleven,” the release said. “The suspects then backed the vehicle out of the store and fled the scene.”
The store was open at the time and no one inside was injured, police said in the release.
However, the Charlotte Fire Department was “to check for any structural damage,” the release said.
“Anyone with information about this incident is asked to 9-1-1 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600,” police said in the release.
