Charlotte teen vanishes after leaving her seat during movie at a North Carolina mall

A 15-year-old Charlotte girl has been missing since she left a movie early at Concord Mills mall on Saturday, Concord police said Wednesday.

Amy Lisets Rivera never told her friends where she was going after she left her seat at the AMC Theaters, police said.

Her father dropped her off at the mall earlier that day and planned to pick her up that night, according to a Concord Police Department news release. Her friends looked for her after the movie but couldn’t find her.

Security video showed her alone on a sidewalk outside of one of the mall’s entrances.

“As the camera panned away, then back, Rivera was no longer visible,” police said in the release. “It is presumed that she got into a vehicle with someone.”

Police believe the teen was headed to Virginia to meet someone.

Rivera is 5-feet-2-inches-tall and about 120 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion, according to police. She wore a black jacket with cat images on it. She also had black leggings on.

Anyone who knows the teen’s whereabouts is asked to call Concord Police at 704-920-5000 or Cabarrus County Crime Stoppers at 704-932-7463.
