Light snow falling around Charlotte. But it’s not expected to stick around.
Flakes could be seen falling in uptown Charlotte just before 11 a.m. Friday, marking the first sight of snow for the season locally.
But, it’s not expected to stick around or stick to the ground, the forecast shows.
The National Weather Service’s daily forecast called for “a chance” of snow in Charlotte, followed by rain.
“Little or no snow accumulation expected,” according to NWS. The high Friday is expected to reach 43 degrees.
One person in Charlotte posted a video from their home, calling it “wet snow.” Reports of snow falling came from around the city, including uptown, south Charlotte and elsewhere.
From inside Bank of America Stadium, the Carolina Panthers tweeted a short video of snow falling on the field, saying “Can confirm. It was snowing.”
