Former Vice President Joe Biden won Wake County as part of his North Carolina victory in Tuesday’s Democratic presidential primary.

Biden captured 41% of the vote here, claiming nearly all of the county’s 200-plus voting precincts. Sen. Bernie Sanders won nine precincts, according to unofficial N.C. State Board of Elections results.

Biden gained particularly strong support in areas east of Raleigh, where he took home more than 60% of the votes in some precincts. Sanders’ precincts were largely limited to precincts in southwest Raleigh.
