Victim identified in fatal shooting late Wednesday in Charlotte apartment

The man who was shot and killed late Wednesday in a northwest Charlotte apartment has been identified as 22-year-old Rodarius Meaders, according to a release from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Investigators say Meaders was shot around 9:34 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Saratoga Drive, which is near Thomasboro Academy. The area is north of Freedom Drive.

“Upon arrival, officers located a male with a gunshot wound in an apartment,” the release said. “He was pronounced deceased on scene.”

Investigators are looking for witnesses. Tips can be offered by calling CMPD at 704-432-TIPS or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
