Teen found dead outside home in north Charlotte, CMPD says. He’d been shot.

A teen was found dead outside a home in north Charlotte late Tuesday and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating it as a homicide.

The victim was identified as 17-year-old Qa’dir Avery Alverest.

Investigators say the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 6400 block of Heatherbrook Avenue in the Hidden Valley community off North Tryon Street.

“Upon arrival, officers located a male with a gunshot wound outside of a home. He was pronounced deceased on scene,” police said in the release.

No arrest in the case has been announced. Investigators have not said if they have a suspect in the shooting.
