Identity released in case of man’s body found beside vehicle in northeast Charlotte
The man who was killed near a northeast Charlotte apartment community has been identified as 23-year-old Li Y, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
Investigators say he was shot about 3:20 p.m. near the Colonial Village Apartments at Chancellor Park. That’s at intersection of Paces Oaks Blvd. and University Ridge Drive.
“When (officers) arrived, they located a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound, lying beside a vehicle in the roadway,” CMPD said in a press release. “The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.”
Police have not released details on how the shooting occurred or if they have a suspect.
