Man shot and killed outside southeast Charlotte apartment complex, CMPD says

A man’s body was found in a southeast Charlotte parking lot late Wednesday, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

The victim, who had been shot, was identified as 31-year-old Oscar Steele, CMPD says in a release.

Investigators say Steele was found after police were called about an assault with a deadly weapon in the 3400 block of Oak Arbor Lane, in the Grier Park Apartments. The neighborhood is between Randolph and Monroe roads.

“MEDIC responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene,” CMPD said in a release.

Police have not said if they have a suspect in the case or what led up to the shooting.
