Charlotte's early week temperatures will close in on 100
As a pre-summer heat wave rages on, some of the city’s youngest residents cooled down the best way they could on Sunday – with gallons and gallons of water.
The temperature peaked at 94 degrees Sunday, which will be one of the cooler days of the week, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will get close to 100 from Monday through Thursday.
Those seeking respite will have to settle for a faucet or a spout for now. The city won’t see any rain until possibly Wednesday. There’s a 50 percent chance of showers on Wednesday afternoon, a trend that continues through Saturday.
And in case you’re wondering, summer doesn’t start until June 21. Cleve R. Wootson Jr.
