Mecklenburg will offer free COVID-19 testing this weekend

The Mecklenburg County Public Health Department will provide free COVID-19 testing at an event on June 27 and 28 at the Valerie C. Woodard Center on Freedom Drive.

According to a press release, the event will be drive-thru or walk-in for those who:

  • Have high risk factors related to health or work environment.
  • Have had close contact with an infected individual.
  • Have recently attended mass gatherings or protests.

Attendees must wear a face covering and bring valid identification to the event. Testing is free regardless of insurance status, according to the press release.

The Mecklenburg County Public Health Department is partnering with Mako Medical for the testing event.
