LatinaCon draws several hundred participants Saturday
About 300 participants heard from successful business leaders at Saturday’s LatinaCon Latino-American Women’s Conference at the Hilton Charlotte Center City Hotel.
Organized by La Noticia, the Spanish-language newspaper, the conference included sessions on such topics as “how to keep a beautiful and professional image at all times,” “essential qualities of a leader,” “stress and its effects on our health” and “how to become a successful business owner.”
Tony Zeiss, president of Central Piedmont Community College, gave the keynote address.
Among the day’s other speakers were Dr. Ophelia Garmon-Brown, senior vice-president of physician services at Novant Health; Leonor Clavijo, executive director of the N.C. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; and Violeta Moser, executive director of the Latin American Women’s Association. Staff reports
