Charlotte traffic: Church fire closes part of Briar Creek Road
Part of Briar Creek Road in Charlotte is closed Wednesday morning after an overnight church fire that injured two Charlotte firefighters.
One firefighters was treated at the scene and the other was taken to the hospital. Both were treated for heat-related injuries, Charlotte fire officials said.
At least 75 firefighters controlled the blaze at Briar Creek Road Baptist Church in an hour and 15 minutes. One building at the church in the 1400 block of Briar Creek Road was a total loss, fire officials said.
Investigators told WBTV, the Observer’s news partner, that the fire was intentionally set.
