This Charlotte neighborhood has no water after a break in a main, officials say

Residents along a block of Queens Road West had no water on Monday after a water main break forced crews to shut off their supply.

The break happened at Rolston Drive, Charlotte Water said on Twitter at 2:30 p.m.

Crews were turning off water to the immediate block, officials said.

It wasn’t immediately known how many households are affected, what caused the break or how long some Myers Park residents will be without water.

Water main breaks

The break was at least the third in two months involving a Charlotte water main.

On Thanksgiving Day, a water main break on Amon Lane in Pineville affected water pressure in the McCulloch neighborhood, according to Charlotte Water.

Pressure returned the same day, with Charlotte Water officials advising residents to run cold water through their taps before using the water.

On Oct. 18, a historic water main break temporarily disrupted service across the city, including the airport, and prompted a boil advisory for thousands of homes and businesses in 16 ZIP codes.

This is a developing story.
