If you bought a Powerball ticket in Charlotte, check it. You may have won a jackpot.

Editor’s note: A Charlotte father claimed the $2 million Powerball prize on Wednesday. Find the update here.

Someone may be walking around Charlotte with a Powerball ticket worth millions and might not know it.

Powerball tickets sold in North Carolina yielded two big wins during Monday’s drawing: $2 million in Charlotte and $200,000 in Robeson County in the southeastern part of the state, according to a lottery news release.

The $2 million winner purchased the ticket at a Sam’s Mart convenience store on Providence Road, officials said. According to Google Maps, there are Sam’s Marts off Laurel Avenue in Eastover and near Fairview Road in the SouthPark area. Lottery officials did not say which store.

The $3 Power Play ticket matched the numbers on all five white balls — 2-13-23-34-66 — to win $1 million. The prize doubled to $2 million because of the added Power Play feature. The odds of matching numbers on all five white balls are 1 in 11.6 million.

It’s the largest prize won nationally in the drawing, officials said.

The two winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes, according to lottery rules.

Since no one won Monday’s $363.3 million drawing, the jackpot climbs to $378 million annuity or $275.9 million cash for Wednesday’s drawing. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

North Carolinians can also play for a major jackpot in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing. The jackpot stands at $171 million annuity, or $124.6 million cash. The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million.

No one claimed a $100,000 prize won in the Dec. 8 drawing on a $3 Power Play ticket, the Observer previously reported.
