Holiday week may ease traffic congestion

The four-day week associated with the July Fourth holiday on Friday may ease commutes this week, as many people are expected to take off for early vacations.

Early traffic snarls on Monday include the following:

North Charlotte

At 9 a.m. a disabled vehicle was reported at Hilltop Circle and Allen Road.

At 9 a.m. an accident was reported near intersection of Dalton Avenue and North Tryon Street.

At 9 a.m. an accident was was was reported at 5001 Chesapeake Drive.

At 8:04 a.m. a hit-and-run was reported at 4525 Sunset Road.

At 8:04 a.m. an accident was reported in the road at J. W. Clay Boulevard and North Tryon Street.

East Charlotte:

At 8:50 a.m. a disabled vehicle was in the road at 7300 Sardis Road.

At 8:35 a.m. accident reported at Albemarle Road and Winterhaven Drive.

At 8:20 a.m. accident reported at East 34th Street and The Plaza.

At 8:15 a.m. an accident with injury reported at North Dotger Avenue and Randolph Road.

At 8:15 a.m. an accident was reported in the road at Milton Road and North Sharon Amity Road.

West Charlotte:

At 8:50 a.m., an accident was reported at Wilkinson Boulevard and Harlee Avenue.

At 8 a.m. an accident in the roadway was reported at Dinglewood Avenue and East Sugar Creek Road.

At 7:30 a.m. a hit-and-run was reported with property damage at East Independence Boulevard and North Sharon Amity Road.

North Charlotte:

At 9 a.m. a disabled vehicle was reported at Hilltop Circle and Allen Road.

At 9 a.m. an accident was reported near intersection of Dalton Avenue and North Tryon Street.

At 9 a.m. an accident was reported at 5001 Chesapeake Drive.

At 7:47 a.m. an accident was reported in the roadway on East Arrowhead Drive and North Tryon Street.

At 6 a.m., a vehicle was reported disabled in the roadway at Wellingford and North Tryon streets.

South Charlotte:

At 9 a.m. an accident was reported at 146000 Carowinds Boulevard.

At 8:56 a.m. an accident was reported at Pineville-Matthews Road and Providence Road.

At 8:30 a.m. a traffic-light malfunction was reported at Providence and International Drive.

At 8:27 a.m. a traffic-light malfunction was reported at the Old Providence Road and Providence Road intersection.

At 8:25 a.m. an accident with personal injury was reported at Steele Creek Road and Brown-Grier Road.

At 8 a.m. an accident was reported at South Boulevard near the Interstate 485 ramp.
