The 2022 Winter Olympics is here. How to watch on TV or live stream in Charlotte
Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2022 Winter Olympics will kick off in February as scheduled from Beijing, China.
From hockey and figure skating to curling and snowboarding, there are multiple ways to watch each Olympic event throughout February.
Here’s how to find all the games, whether you get your TV through cable, satellite or a streaming service.
When is the Winter Olympics 2022?
Some events start as early as Feb. 2, but the Opening Ceremony officially kicks off the winter games Feb. 4.
The Closing Ceremony is set for Feb. 20.
What channel is the Olympics on in Charlotte?
The bulk of the Olympics, including the opening and closing ceremonies, will air on NBC. Charlotte’s NBC affiliate is WCNC. That’s channel 6 on Spectrum, channel 1036 on AT&T U-Verse, channel 36 on DISH Network and channel 36 on DIRECTV.
NBC is also available on some streaming TV providers, including YouTubeTV and HuluLive.
Some events will air on USA Network or CNBC.
How to stream the Olympics
The Olympics will be streamed on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock.
Peacock will have streams of the Opening Ceremony and each live event, and you’ll also be able to replay events.
Although Peacock offers some content for free, you’ll need to pay for “Peacock Premium” to access most Olympics content. Subscriptions start at $4.99 per month. Some highlights, analysis and clips will be available for free, per Peacock’s website.
You can also access some streams on the NBC Sports app by logging in through your TV provider.
