Medic treated a driver at the scene after his vehicle struck a wood utility pole Tuesday morning in the 1800 block of Merriman Avenue, near West Boulevard and South Tryon Street.

The wreck happened about 8 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

Shortly before 8 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg police also responded to an injury wreck at Mountain Island Drive and Rozzelles Ferry Road, off Brookshire Boulevard.
