What’s the average price of homes in your Charlotte ZIP code? View this interactive map

Many a headline has highlighted the rise in home prices across the Charlotte area, but the numbers show that average home values can vary by hundreds of thousands depending on ZIP code.

So, what are the most expensive areas in town? Where can you get the best value? And are home values going up across the board, or just in certain areas?

Using data from the real estate website Zillow, here’s what to know about home values in Charlotte:

What Charlotte ZIP code has the lowest average home values?

The 28083 ZIP code — which includes much of Kannapolis — has the lowest average home values in the Charlotte area, Zillow’s data shows.

The average home value in the area as of January was $227,263.

What Charlotte ZIP code has the highest average home values?

The 28207 ZIP code — which includes parts of the Eastover, Cherry and Myers Park neighborhoods — has the highest average home value in the Charlotte area, according to Zillow’s data.

The average home in that area is worth $1,665,819 as of January.

Home value trends in Charlotte

Median home values are up across the Charlotte area, with the average value being $329,961, the Observer previously reported.

The average percent change in home values from January 2021 to January 2022 in the area was +25.4%. But 15 ZIP codes in the region saw an above average percent change compared to the region as a whole.

The biggest change, +31.65%, was in the 28104 ZIP code, which includes areas in and around Matthews. The least amount of change, +14.8%, was in the 28202 ZIP code, which includes part of Second Ward and Uptown.
