Missing 11-year-old girl last seen leaving south Charlotte middle school, CMPD says

Editor’s note: Angela was found and is being reunited with her family, police said on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking the public to help find a missing 11-year-old girl.

Angela Lopez-Ortega was reported missing Tuesday and was last seen leaving Quail Hollow Middle School at 3:20 p.m. at 2901 Smithfield Church Road in south Charlotte.

Lopez-Ortega is 4 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 90 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a blue button-up shirt with “El Salvador” written on it, a crop-top underneath, black pants and pink and white Nike sneakers.

Angela’s family is concerned for her well-being.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
