Graphic: These two ZIP codes have some of the highest median rents in Charlotte

Much has been written about high rent prices in Charlotte, but two area ZIP codes stand out among the rest for rates that have -- over the last year -- trended above the rest.

The 28217 ZIP code — which includes the Yorkmount neighborhood — and 28207 ZIP code — which includes the Eastover neighborhood — have median rents as of March of $2,505 and $2,440, according to data from the real estate site RentHub.

Those numbers are down from both ZIP codes’ peaks over the last 12 months — a median rent of $3,025 in June in the 28217 and $3,000 in August in the 28207 — but continue to outpace the median rents in the other Charlotte-area ZIP codes for which RentHub data is available.

On the other end of the spectrum, the 28226 and 28210 ZIP codes — which include the Carmel and Beverly Woods neighborhoods, respectively — have tended to have the lowest median rents in the last 12 months, hovering around $1,500.

Use the interactive graphic below to compare median rents across Charlotte ZIP codes and see where your neighborhood falls (Tip: You can use the “ZIP codes” drop-down menu in the graphic to add more ZIP codes from around the state or narrow the number of ZIP codes that appear):
