Harris Teeter takes 40 cents off gas prices this weekend — only at one location

Harris Teeter VIC card members can fill up their gas tanks at a discounted price this weekend.

Card holders who attend the Davis Lake Fuel Center opening in north Charlotte either Friday, Saturday or Sunday can get 40 cents off each gallon of gasoline, Harris Teeter said in a news release Thursday.

Harris Teeter offers its customers 3 cents off each gallon every day with a VIC card, the Matthews-based grocer said, but shoppers are encouraged to fill up during the Davis Lake opening to take advantage of the special discount.

Shoppers can redeem fuel points for cents off the gallon at the fuel pump of any Harris Teeter fuel center or BP station, the company said.

The new 240-square-foot center, at 8415 Davis Lake Parkway, has seven fuel pumps, Harris Teeter said.

Harris Teeter operates more than 60 fuel centers throughout Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Normal fuel center operating hours will be 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 24 hours at the pump.

The average price of gasoline in Charlotte over the past three months is about $4.40, compared to the U.S. average of $4.73 over the same time span, according to GasBuddy.

The current gas price average in North Carolina is $4.39 for regular, compared to $4.36 for the same grade a week ago, AAA Gas Prices said.
