You can exchange your old IKEA furniture for store credit. This is how it works
Are you a loyal IKEA customer with more furniture from the brand than you know what to do with? If so, you may have an opportunity to save while shopping for new items.
Most Charlotte IKEA shoppers are unaware that the popular Swedish furniture manufacturer offers a program that allows customers to sell their used IKEA furniture back to the store located at 8300 IKEA Blvd. in Charlotte.

How the IKEA program in Charlotte works
Participating in the IKEA Buy Back and Resell program begins by filling out a form to determine your furniture’s eligibility. Once you get a quote emailed from the store, customers can bring a copy of the quote and assembled furniture to the Charlotte location. A staff member will then confirm the value of the furniture on site.
Once the arrangement has been made, customers can receive in-store credit that can be applied to new purchases at the store. It’s important to note that this service is only available for members of the brand’s rewards program, IKEA Family.
IKEA says program promotes ‘sustainable living’
IKEA has been considered an affordable option for furniture shoppers for decades. The first American catalog was released in 1985 and 36 years later, IKEA is now dedicated to ensuring the brand offers a planet-friendly alternative to competitors in addition to affordability, according to their website.
“We’ll buy (your furniture) back and you help pave the way toward sustainable living,” the company said in a statement. “By finding your furniture a new home, we are making the things we love last longer.”

In addition to the location in Charlotte, the eco-friendly and money-saving service is now available in 35 cities across the country, including regionally in Atlanta, Georgia, Baltimore, Maryland and Norfolk, Virginia. Participating locations also include:
