Amid a hot housing market, many choosing to rent in Charlotte are also facing rising prices.
The median rent across the Charlotte area’s many ZIP codes sits at an average of $1,800 as of May, the latest data available from the real estate site RentHub. That’s up 9.2% in the last 12 months.
The biggest increases, per RentHub, have been in the 28207 ZIP code — which includes parts of the Eastover and Myers Park neighborhoods. There, rents have soared by 132.71% to a median of $4,724. That’s the highest median rent of all the ZIP codes in the area.
But not all ZIP codes have been hit as hard by rent increases. The median rent has held steady in two area ZIP codes, the 28083 and 28210, in the last 12 months. And it’s actually gone down in six ZIP codes.
