The best sights in Charlotte from 4th of July weekend taken by our visual journalists
The Charlotte area celebrated the 4th of July Monday with fireworks, parades and the welcoming of its newly naturalized citizens.
Thounsands of people gathered at Truist Field, Romare Bearden Park and the nearby streets to watch fireworks show takes place after the Team USA Baseball game. The SkyShow is the largest fireworks show in the Southeast.
Earlier in the day, the Charlotte Museum of History hosted the U.S. Oath and Naturalization Ceremony, welcoming the new citizens, an annual event that was halted during COVID the previous two years.
The event featured music from Drums4Life and the ringing of the American Freedom Bell.
“These new citizens work for years to reach this milestone, reminding us of the awesome rights and responsibilities that come with being a U.S. citizen,” said Dee Dixon, the museum’s board of trustees chair.
