A $1 million winning Powerball ticket was sold at a Harris Teeter in Charlotte

One Harris Teeter customer had an eventful trip to the supermarket Saturday in Charlotte.

A ticket purchased at the Harris Teeter on South Tryon Street won $1 million, the North Carolina Education Lottery said in a news release Sunday. The $2 ticket matched the numbers of all five white balls, beating odds of 1 in 11.6 million.

The winner has 180 days to claim the prize. The winning numbers from Saturday’s drawing were 3-18-23-32-57 and Powerball 21.

The Powerball jackpot has now climbed to an annuity of $89 million over 29 years or lump sum of $51.7 million, after no one drew the winning numbers Saturday. The next drawing is Monday.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

And the Mega Millions jackpot has reached half a billion dollars.

The next drawing is Tuesday, and the jackpot is an annuity of $530 million, or lump sum of $304.7 million, which is the eighth largest in the game. The odds of winning is 1 in 302.5 million, according to the lottery website.
