The Charlotte area will likely see its hottest day of the week Thursday, as the mercury climbs to an expected 96 degrees under sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday’s high will hover around the same 96-degree mark, before temperatures ease a few degrees over the weekend. The normal high is 89 degrees.
Saturday’s high is forecast to drop to 92, then reach 93 Sunday and Monday.
The next few days have only a slight chance of thunderstorms, before the chance rises to a still slim 30 percent Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The region, as well as the rest of the state, has been in a drought for several weeks, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change anytime soon.
